Succulent Arrangement Care
We hope you’re loving your new Succulent living gift. Here are simple tips to keep your succulent arrangement alive and thriving.
Light
Place your succulent bowl where it will receive bright indirect light all day or 4 hours of direct light each day (preferably in the morning). Keep in mind that the afternoon heat, especially in summer, can burn the plants. If your succulents aren’t getting enough light, they’ll start to stretch and lose their vibrancy. This happens because it’s chasing the sun, so move the plant to a brighter spot. Also, turn the pot now and then, so it gets sun on all sides.
To give your succulents the best chance at growing indoors – find a sunny spot; near or on a window sill. It also wouldn’t hurt to sometimes shift your succulents outdoors to soak up the rays and fresh air. Place the succulent bowl in a protected area where they get bright indirect light.
Water
Water upon receiving your arrangement, once it has been watered and it’s ready for display. Wait for at least a week or two before watering. You may see a little drooping but don't worry this will go away after a few weeks as your arrangement was made fresh and custom just for you, upon order and everyone is getting used to growing together in one pot!
When it comes to watering your succulents: less is more. It’s possible to overwater your new house guest, so the rule of thumb is – only water the succulents when the soil’s completely dry. To water, soak the soil thoroughly, and allow the water to drain. Succulents have a dormant period, which requires less watering. Water sparingly during winter.
Tip: the top of the soil may look dry but it can be wet beneath, so before watering your plant, dip your finger or a wooden stick into the soil to feel the level of moisture. If the soil is dry, it’s time to water.
Temperature & Humidity
Succulents prefer average to warm temperatures and average humidity.
Maintenance
Over time, the lower leaves of your succulents will dry up. Gently remove any dead leaves which should pull away easily. If some healthy leaves fall off, you can propagate and grow baby succulents from.
Like any living thing – fresh air, love and water will keep your succulents smiling.
